Cyclist Carl Lane, 75, dies after crash near Peebles

A cyclist has died in hospital six months after he was involved in a road accident near Peebles.

Carl Lane, 75, suffered serious spinal injuries in the collision with a Volvo XC90 car on 27 October last year.

The accident happened on the A72 Peebles to Glentress Road, near to Eshiels Mill.

Police Scotland confirmed Mr Lane died at the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow on Wednesday and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
