Bus crashes into wall in Edinburgh's Queensferry Road

A bus has crashed into a wall, closing one of the main routes into, and out of, Edinburgh, causing tailbacks.

The accident happened at about 15:10 on Queensferry Road between Quality Street and Clermiston Road North.

Rush hour traffic was diverted onto minor roads but the road has since reopened.

Lothian Buses said it believes spilt hydraulic fluid caused the bus to slip and crash into railings.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said no-one was injured in the accident.

The road was initially closed in both directions between Quality Street and Drum Brae North.

The bus service was the number 21, heading to the Royal Infirmary.
