Police officers injured in Dumfries street 'disturbance'

Two police officers have been badly hurt in a "serious disturbance" outside a convenience store in Dumfries.

A 27-year-old man was arrested during the incident at the Scotmid Store on Lochside Road at about 17:20 on Wednesday.

Police said one female officer suffered a "serious facial injury" while her male colleague required treatment for a dislocated arm.

Anyone who saw the incident has been asked to come forward.
