Three in hospital after Heriot A7 accident

Three people have been seriously injured in a two-car crash on the A7 near Heriot in the Scottish Borders.

A red Audi A3 and a burgundy Ford Focus were involved in the accident just south of the B6367 junction for Pathhead at 07:25.

The 21-year-old driver of the Focus and 56-year-old A3 driver were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

A 64-year-old passenger from the Audi was also badly hurt and was taken to Borders General Hospital.

The road was closed until about 11:30.
