Fire guts derelict Lockerbie shop building

Fire has gutted a derelict shop building on a main route through Lockerbie.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews from Lockerbie and Moffat were sent to the scene shortly before 04:00.

They were joined later by firefighters from Annan and Dumfries and the B723 Townhead Street was shut between Livingstone Place and Victoria Road.

Damping down operations began at about 09:00 and crews left the scene of the incident shortly afterwards.
