Wanlockhead man dies in hospital after Mennock bike fall

A 22-year-old cyclist from Wanlockhead has died in hospital after falling from his bike near Mennock in Dumfries and Galloway.

James Murray suffered a serious head injury in the accident on the B797 on Monday.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

Police said he died in the hospital on Thursday morning.
