Appeal over fatal bike crash on B797 near Mennock

Police investigating a crash in Dumfries and Galloway in which a cyclist was fatally injured have renewed their appeal for witnesses.

James Murray, 22, suffered a serious head injury after falling from his bike on the B797 near Mennock on 15 August. He died three days later in hospital.

No other vehicle was involved.

Officers are keen to hear from any witnesses, particularly the driver of a blue Peugeot 306 or 307 seen on the road around the time of the incident.

Sgt Leigh McCulloch said: "Inquiries into the circumstances of this fatal road crash are continuing and we would like to speak to any witnesses who have not already contacted police."
