Two face assault charges after incident near Burns Statue in Dumfries

Two men have appeared in court on assault charges after an incident near Burns Statue in Dumfries at the weekend.

Conner Miller, 20, of Dumfries, and Luther James, 27, of Leicester, appeared in private before Sheriff Scott Pattison at Dumfries.

They appeared separately on petitions alleging assault and assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

No plea was made in either case and both were released on bail.
