A lifeboat crew has been called out to trace a pleasure boat amid concerns for its safety off the Borders coast.

The cabin cruiser failed to respond to repeated contact attempts from the coastguard after it had sailed from Eyemouth on Monday morning.

A call was issued to all vessels in the vicinity of St Abb's Head to keep a lookout for the boat in deteriorating weather conditions.

The lifeboat was launched at 11:30 and quickly traced the cruiser.

The vessel and its one-man crew were escorted safely back to Eyemouth.
