Cattle die after roof collapses under weight of snow

Three cattle have died after the roof of a farm shed in Angus collapsed under the weight of snow, it has emerged.

Tayside Police said that emergency crews were called to Over Finlarg Farm shortly after 0700GMT.

Fifty cattle were in the shed and two died immediately after the collapse, while one had to be put down later.

Tayside Fire and Rescue sent six fire engines and a support vehicle to help deal with the incident.

The A928 Lumley Den Road, between the A90 and Glamis, was closed and diversions were put in place while the emergency services worked at the scene.

A police spokesman said the road has since reopened.
