A 13-year-old boy has been charged with stealing a disabled girl's wheelchair from the back of her parents' car.

Police launched an appeal on Wednesday after the 15-year-old's wheelchair went missing from the car, which was parked in the driveway of their home in Fallin, near Stirling.

It was taken sometime between 1700 GMT on Monday and 1000 GMT on Tuesday and still has not been found.

The girl relies on the wheelchair to get around.

It is described as a manual wheelchair, mainly black, with an adjustable bar on the back which as a shiny alloy coating.

Central Scotland Police said they were keen to hear from anybody who has information about the theft.
