Glen Doll rescuers find missing walker

A 68-year-old hillwalker has been found by mountain rescuers after going missing in the Glen Doll area of Angus.

The alarm was raised after Leo Fewster, from Dundee, did not return to his car on Wednesday evening.

Tayside Police and civilian rescue teams were called to search for Mr Fewster, who police said was an experienced hillwalker.

He was found, cold but uninjured, in the forest below the Kilbo path at about 0415 GMT.

Search and rescue dogs were also involved in the eight-hour operation.

A spokesman for Tayside Police said: "Despite suffering from the effects of the cold he was able to walk out with rescue teams to a waiting ambulance.

"Mr Fewster was thereafter conveyed to Ninewells hospital as a precautionary measure."
