Dundee police raids in organised crime probe

About 50 officers in Dundee have taken part in a series of raids as part of an investigation into organised crime.

Tayside Police said class A drugs were found after officers searched a house in Hazelton Way in Broughty Ferry as part of the operation.

Officers also targeted two commercial properties in Dundee's Dura Street, a flat in Baldovan Terrace and a house in Pitkerro Road.

A 36-year-old woman has been charged in connection with drug supply offences.

She is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday.

A spokesman said: "Inquiries are still ongoing to identify others involved and further arrests are expected in due course."

Police also searched a lockup in West Queen Street in Broughty Ferry as part of the crackdown.

The force said the operation was part of a probe into drug dealing, money laundering and mortgage fraud in the area.

In a statement, police said uniformed officers were visiting surrounding properties with 'Ditch a Dealer' leaflets, seeking information on suspected drug dealing in the area.
