Prisoner absconds from Castle Huntly open jail

A 42-year-old prisoner has gone on the run from Castle Huntly open jail near Dundee.

Daniel McDougall was due to return on Saturday after being released for home leave.

He was sentenced to four years in jail in November 2008 for assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

He is described as 6ft 1in with short brown hair, brown eyes, and a fresh complexion. He has family and friends in the Blantyre and Bothwell areas.

Tayside Police urged anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact them.
