Arbroath pool incident boy still critical

A six-year-old boy pulled unconscious from a swimming pool in Arbroath is still in a critical condition, police have said.

The youngster is being treated at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after the incident at Red Lion Caravan Park's leisure centre on Saturday afternoon.

He was pulled from the pool shortly before 1500 BST and resuscitated at the scene.

Tayside Police said inquiries into the incident were still ongoing.

The six-year-old, who is understood to be local to the area, was at the pool with his mother and two other children.

A spokesman for the caravan park said he appeared to have had a "medical episode" and had been underwater for a short while.
