Man hurt after two cars overturn in Newton Mearns crash

A man was airlifted to hospital following a crash involving two cars which both flipped on to their roofs in Newton Mearns in East Renfrewshire.

Police said the man's Toyota MR2 collided with an Audi on Humbie Road at about 1945 BST on Monday.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to free the 40-year-old man and he was flown by helicopter to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

He was in a stable condition. The 25-year-old Audi driver was not injured.
