Clackmannanshire police arrest 12 in drugs operation
Twelve people have been arrested during a week-long operation targeting drug dealers in Clackmannanshire.
Police said they had recovered a wide range of drugs during a series of raids in Tullibody, Alloa, Coalsnaghton and Tillicoultry.
The estimated street value of the drugs seized was about £1,100. Cash and drugs paraphernalia was also discovered.
The operation was in response to information from the communities concerned, police said.
Sgt Craig Rankine, from Central Scotland Police, said they had successfully disrupted several dealers in the area.
"While the people we targeted may be low-level dealers they have had an impact on the quality of life for our communities such as theft, anti-social behaviour and vandalism," he said.
Seven people have been reported to the procurator fiscal following the arrests. Further investigations are being carried out into one of the men.
The drugs seized included heroin, Valium, cannabis resin, herbal cannabis and amphetamine.
Sgt Rankine added: "We will be targeting other dealers in the coming weeks and months and those who are involved in this criminal activity can expect a visit from my officers soon.
"However, we still need those with information to come forward. Never stop telling us who you suspect to be dealing. This shows that we listen to what we are told and we act on it."
