Man and woman injured after being hit by car in Dundee

Two pedestrians have been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Dundee city centre.

Tayside Police said that a silver Audi struck a 50-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman as they crossed Riverside Drive at about 1420 BST.

They were both treated at the scene then taken to Ninewells Hopsital. Their injuries were described as serious, but not life-threatening.

The 39-year-old car driver was uninjured.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The road was closed for a short time to allow investigations to be carried out.
