Teenager due in court over Falkirk cannabis factory
A teenager has been arrested after a cannabis factory was discovered at an address in Falkirk.
About 500 plants were recovered by officers from Central Scotland Police's drugs and organised crime unit after they received information from the public.
The plants were in various stages of growth with an estimated street value of £200,000.
A 16-year-old was due to appear in court on Monday.
Det Insp Charlie Mitchell said: "I am pleased that members of the local community have come forward with this information.
"Cannabis cultivations can prove problematic, particularly in relation to the danger of fire associated with such things as by-passing electrical meters or poor ventilation in areas where there is extreme heat.
"I thank those who helped with this investigation and encourage others to be aware of what is happening in their communities and to contact us if they have any information."
