Vandals steal from Bannockburn graveyard plot
Vandals damaged a grave at a cemetery near Stirling before stealing items that were decorating the plot, police have said.
An ornamental windmill and birds were taken from the grave at the Bruce Street Cemetery, Bannockburn, and a decorative round stone was smashed.
Central Scotland Police said the family, who regularly tend the grave, had been "greatly upset" by the theft.
The incident took place between 25 July and 3 August.
A police spokeswoman said: "The objects are of sentimental value and included an ornamental windmill, a bluebird and another ornamental bird.
"All were taken from the grave and a round stone which decorates the area had been smashed."
The force have appealed for anyone with information about the vandalism and theft to come forward.
