Dog walker fends off young attackers with stick

A woman who was knocked to the ground by two youths trying to steal her dog fended them off with her walking stick.

The 51-year-old was targeted by the youngsters, aged between 16 and 18, as she walked along Liff Terrace in Dundee.

The woman, who was was not seriously injured, managed to hold on to the dog as she waved her stick at the youths.

Tayside Police said the incident happened at about 15:00 on Saturday.

The youths, described as 5ft 2in tall, of slim build and both wearing similar dark blue hooded tops with their hoods up, headed towards Linton Road in the direction of Camperdown Park.
