Man run over by train at Perth station

A 21-year-old man has had his arm amputated after he was run over by a train at Perth station.

The man, from Buckie in Moray, was attempting to board the Aberdeen train at about 22:50 on Sunday when he slipped.

He fell between the train and the platform and was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with severe arm injuries.

British Transport Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

He is understood to be in a serious but stable condition.

A Scotail spokesman said: "We are co-operating fully in the investigation into this tragic incident involving a young man, and are aware that police have advised there are no suspicious circumstances."
