Guthrie Castle crash death driver named

A driver who died after his car smashed into a wall at the entrance to a castle in Angus has been named by police.

Andrew McGhee, from Leuchars in Fife, was fatally injured after the crash at Guthrie Castle on the A932 near Friockheim.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident, which happened at about 14:25 on Tuesday, a spokesman Tayside Police spokesman said.

Paramedics treated the 46-year-old at the scene but could not save him.

Police have appealed to anyone who saw Mr McGhee's red Kia Picanto in the area before the crash to contact them.
