Arbroath man accused of partner's murder

A man has appeared in court accused of murder after the death of his partner in her Angus flat.

Joanne Rennie was found seriously injured at her home in Arbroath's Culloden Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

She was treated by paramedics, but died at the scene.

Graeme Buist, 30, from Arbroath, made no plea or declaration during a short private appearance at Arbroath Sheriff Court.

Tayside Police were called to the flat at 01:45 on Tuesday after reports of a disturbance.

Mr Buist made no motion for bail and was remanded in custody as the case was continued for further examination.

He is expected to appear in court again next week.
