Convicted killer Ronald Ritchie dies in custody
A prisoner serving a life sentence for killing a 65-year-old man in 1994 has died in hospital, the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) has said.
Ronald Brown Ritchie, 60, was convicted of the murder of Magnus Fotheringham at a house in Arbroath.
A spokesman for the SPS said Ritchie had died in Perth Royal Infirmary on Thursday. He had been an inmate at Perth Prison.
Police and the prisoner's next of kin have been notified.
The death will now be reported to the procurator fiscal.
