Appeal over 'unprovoked' assault in Dundee

Police in Dundee have appealed for witnesses to an "unprovoked" assault that left a man seriously injured.

The man suffered a fractured jaw in the attack, which took place at about 02:30 on Thursday.

Tayside Police said the victim was standing at the junction of South Ward Road and North Lindsay Street.

Officers said they wanted to trace a "white European" man, about 6ft tall, stocky build and aged between 20 to 25 years old.

He was described as being tanned and was wearing a white tank top and light coloured denim jeans.
