Man attacked with sticks by gang in Dundee

A man is recovering after being attacked and beaten by a gang of stick-wielding youths on a Dundee Street.

Tayside Police said the 48-year-old victim was chased by about ten youths, aged between 13 and 15, before being assaulted in the city's St Mary's area.

The incident occurred at about 21:30 on Friday.

The victim suffered broken ribs and facial injuries and was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment before being released.

Police described the assault as "particularly nasty" and have appealed for witnesses.

They are looking for anyone who may have seen the victim being chased in St Kilda Road through side streets into St Fillans Road, where he was assaulted with sticks or similar weapons.

The 48-year-old was wearing a black zip-up top and jeans and was bald.
