River Tay body identified by police

A man found dead in the River Tay on Sunday has been identified by police as a 59-year-old missing for two weeks.

James Stewart, from Stanley, near Perth, had not been seen since 6 November.

His body was recovered by a lifeboat crew on Sunday morning in the Dundee port area.

Tayside Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
