Two men charged over Carron Valley reservoir body find

Two men have been charged with murder after a man was found dead on a forestry track near a reservoir.

The body of Stewart Barrett, who was 34 and from Kirkintilloch, was discovered on a track next to the Carron Valley reservoir in Fintry on Sunday.

Joseph Ramage, 38, and Paul McManus, 33, made no plea when they appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Mr Ramage, from Kirkintilloch, and Mr McManus, from Barlanark, were remanded in custody.

The pair were also charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

They are due to appear in court again on 9 December.
