A prisoner convicted of firearms offences has been found by police two weeks after he failed to return to a prison in Dundee after home leave.

Peter Mowat, 44, had been granted a week's leave from Castle Huntly open prison on 18 December.

He was found in Glasgow, Tayside Police said, and is expected to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday.

Mowat, from the Maryhill area of Glasgow, is serving a five-year sentence for firearms offences.
