OAP hurt in attack by teenagers in Dundee

Police are hunting a group of teenagers who attacked a 73-year-old man on a street in Dundee.

The man was assaulted by two or three youths near to Harestane Road, at its junction with Helmsdale Place, between 08:00 and 08:15.

Tayside Police said the man suffered a minor injury and has been left shaken by the experience.

The youths were described as being between 14 and 16 years old and about 5ft 6ins tall.

The incident happened on the pavement of Helmsdale Place next to Sidlaw View Primary School.

A spokesman for the force said: "This appears to have been an unprovoked and needless attack and officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen these males, or anyone who has information about this crime and ask them to contact Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222 or speak to any officer."
