Two skydivers hurt in separate parachute incidents in Perthshire

Two skydivers have escaped with minor injuries after separate parachute incidents in Perthshire.

An 18-year-old man was airlifted to hospital when his parachute failed to deploy fully in a jump at Strathallan Airfield, near Auchterarder.

A spokesman for Skydive Strathallan said he had since been released from hospital.

A 28-year-old woman is thought to have broken her ankle when her parachute failed to open at Errol Airfield.

In the incident at Strathallan, which happened at about 11:20, the teenager was left falling towards the ground at about 50mph when his chute only partially opened.

The Skydive Strathallan spokesman said: "His dad phoned earlier and in his own words, he doesn't have a scratch."

The woman involved in the incident at Errol Airfield, which happened about an hour later, was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
