Firefighters tackle blaze at former hotel in Powmill

More than 20 firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a hotel building in Perthshire.

The Gartwhinzean Hotel at Powmill was said to be well alight. Crews were called to the scene at about 04:58.

Tayside Fire and Rescue said there were no reports of any injuries and the building was understood to be unoccupied.

The A977 through Powmill has been closed because of the fire and police were diverting traffic onto the A91.
