One person has died after a caravan in the grounds of a pub near Loch Lomond caught fire.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the Drovers Inn pub, near Inverarnan at about 04:00.

At one point, about 30 firefighters were involved in tackling the blaze, with crews from Central Scotland and Strathclyde fire services.

Police forensic officers are now examining the remains of the caravan to determine the cause of the fire.

A Central Scotland Police spokeswoman said: "We are currently carrying out a joint investigation with Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service to establish the circumstances.

"We are not able to confirm the identity of the person who has died until the formal identification process has been carried out."
