Six hurt in A85 head-on collision near Perth

A car burst into flames after a head-on crash involving six people in Perthshire, police have said.

The cars collided on the A85 near Perth at about 21:40 on Thursday.

Five teenagers - two males and three females - were in a Peugeot 106 which collided with a Nissan Primera being driven by a 65-year-old man.

All six were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. Tayside Police said none of the casualties were in a serious condition.

"Emergency services were quickly at the scene and the occupants of both vehicles were treated before being conveyed by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital," a spokesman for the force said.

"It is believed that there were a number other road users in the area at the time. Officers are appealing to anyone who saw the collision or the vehicles prior to the collision to contact them."

Tayside Fire and Rescue sent one appliance to the scene. Firefighters put out the car fire with a hose reel and helped paramedics treat the casualties.
