Stirling park fire could have been serious, warn police
Police have warned that a fire at a park in Stirling had the potential to become very dangerous had it not been caught early.
Emergency services were called to the fire at the King's Park Pavilion about 09:15 on Thursday morning.
A wooden panel covering a window of the pavilion had been set on fire.
Central Scotland Police said they were treating the fire as suspicious and have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
Community PC Richard Morris said: "Although the vast majority of the pavilion is disused the toilets remain in use by people visiting the park.
"This could have resulted in potentially serious consequences had the fire spread further and not been noticed in time. We are treating this fire as suspicious.
"We are appealing for anyone in the area of Kings Park at that time and who has not already spoken to police to come forward."
