Water supplies restored after main bursts near Dunblane

Engineers have restored water supplies after a broken mains resulted in travel disruption on the M9 and the closure of Dunblane Primary School.

Scottish Water said the water was back on for most properties after a pipeline ruptured overnight near the Keir Roundabout.

A few homes in Dunblane and Port of Menteith are still without supplies.

The burst on the 12 inch water main also caused flooding in the area near junction 11 on the motorway.

The water company said they were working to restore normal supplies to any properties, and to repair the burst main, as soon as possible.

Scottish Water also warned that some customers might notice a discolouration of the water when supplies are restored.

However, they said that this was normal after such a burst and affected customers should run the cold water tap in their kitchen until the water runs clear.
