Emigrating witness delays Dundee attempted murder trial
The trial of a man accused of trying to kill a worker at a B&Q store in Dundee has been adjourned until next year.
Brian Coventry is charged with the attempted murder of Steven Russell at the B&Q in Craigie Road North on 6 January this year.
The trial has been delayed because a witness is in the process of emigrating with his family to New Zealand.
At the High Court in Glasgow Judge Michael O'Grady QC agreed to adjourn the case until 18 March.
It is claimed Mr Coventry, 36, repeatedly struck Mr Russell, 40, on the head and body with a knife.
The case will be continued at the High Court in Edinburgh.
