Firm appointed as administrators of Liz McColgan's Carnoustie health club
Accountancy firm Johnston Carmichael have been appointed as administrators of Liz McColgan's health club which went bust at the end of last year.
The Liz McColgan Health Club and Physiotherapy Centre, in Carnoustie, Angus, ceased trading last November after struggling with mounting debts.
Donald McNaught, director of insolvency at Johnston Carmichael was appointed after a petition by the creditors.
The accountant said they hoped to sell the business as a going concern.
In a message on Facebook, Liz McColgan said the health club, which opened 13 years ago, had been a victim of her divorce and the recession.
Liquidator Johnston Carmichael said: "Our aim as the liquidator is to sell the property and assets of this health club business as a going concern.
"If we are unable to find a buyer to take on the business then we will need to explore other avenues that will create value for the company's creditors including the sale of individual assets."
