Police arrest nine in Falkirk in connection to football disturbance
Police have arrested nine men from the Falkirk area in connection with a disturbance in Hamilton prior to an SFL game.
The arrests follow reports of clashes between Hamilton Academical and Falkirk fans ahead of their game on 5 January.
Central Scotland Police said the men were aged between 15 and 19-years-old.
The force said the arrests were a result of a retrospective investigation by the National Football Co-ordination Unit for Scotland.
Central Scotland Police added that nine men, fans of both Hamilton Academical FC and Falkirk FC, had also been arrested in Hamilton on Saturday, 5 January in connection with the same disturbance.
Those arrested were aged between 15-years-old and 24-years-old.
