Object dropped from A90 flyover hits lorry and car

A lorry and car have been hit by an object which was thrown from a flyover onto the A90 near Dundee on Wednesday.

The unknown heavy item struck the windscreen of a fully laden HGV and then hit the windscreen of a car - on the passenger seat side.

Tayside Police said the incident happened just before 23:00 on Emmock Road flyover at the top of Powrie Brae.

Officers have appealed for witnesses and branded the actions "life threatening".

A spokesman said: "Both the driver of the HGV and driver and front seat passenger of the car are extremely lucky that the item thrown from the flyover did not penetrate the cabin of either vehicle."

Anyone with information was urged to contact police or pass on information to Crimestoppers.
