Police have confirmed the name of a man who was killed when his car left the road in Fife.

He was 38-year-old ScotRail manager Brian Crayford from Dundee.

Mr Crayford was found dead at 06:30 on Monday beside the A92, between Letham and Parbroath crossroads junction, near Cupar. Officers said no-one else was hurt in the incident.

The road was closed for several hours while police carried out accident investigations.

Fife Constabulary have appealed for anyone who was travelling on the stretch of road between 05:30 and 06:30 to contact them.

Insp Brenda Sinclair, deputy head of road policing, said: "Our investigations into the crash are still ongoing and I would appeal for anyone in the area at the time, who might have seen a grey Subaru Legacy travelling south on the A92 between Dundee and Melville Lodges roundabout around 5am on Monday to contact us."
