Man in court over tourist's road death in Pitlochry

A 54-year-old man has appeared in court in connection with the death of a 70-year-old Dutch tourist.

Stewart Williamson, from Pitlochry, appeared at Perth Sheriff Court charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving whilst unfit and refusing a breath test.

Mr Williamson made no plea or declaration and was granted bail.

The tourist died after being hit by a car on Kirkmichael Road in Pitlochry on Saturday night.

Police earlier said the man had been on a walking holiday.
