Cannabis farm hidden in back of Dundee sweetshop

A sweetshop owner is facing jail after he admitted running a cannabis farm in the back room of his store.

Kenneth Coull, who runs Ianetta's confectioners in Dundee's Hilltown area, used the back of his shop to grow the class B drug.

Dundee Sheriff Court heard police raided the store on 17 February after a tip off.

When they turned up Coull said: "I know what this is about - let's cut to the chase."

Fiscal depute Laura Bruce told the court: "Ten cannabis plants, rooting gel, lamps and other equipment were found in the rear of the store."

Coull, 52, of Broughty Ferry, pleaded guilty to possessing and producing cannabis at Ianetta's in February this year.

Sheriff Elizabeth Munro continued the case until next month for Coull to appear personally at court.
