A9 death crash van driver identified

A 47-year-old man who died following a crash on the southbound carriageway of the A9 has been formally identified.

William Mitchell, from Stevenston in North Ayrshire, was pronounced dead at the scene after his Ford Transit van was involved in a collision with a Volvo lorry.

The accident happened close to the Keir Roundabout, outside Dunblane, on Wednesday.

Police said inquiries into the incident were ongoing.
