Peter Brown sentenced for sexual assault at festival
A man has been fined £1,000 and placed on the sex offenders register for five years after sexually assaulting a woman at a music festival.
Peter Brown, 47, from Blairgowrie, had groped the woman and made inappropriate gestures towards another while he was drunk.
The incidents happened at the Rewind Festival in Scone Palace on 21 July 2012.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis told him: "I consider it appropriate to make it clear to you and others that this behaviour is totally unsuitable".
Perth Sheriff Court heard how Brown, a married landscape gardener, had carried out the behaviour unaware that his wife was standing nearby.
Brown admitted sexually assaulting a 50-year-old woman by groping her thigh at the event.
He also admitted behaving in an abusive manner towards a 52-year-old woman by repeatedly flicking his tongue at her in an inappropriate way.
Fiscal depute Robbie Brown told the court how the accused required medical treatment because he was so heavily under the influence of alcohol.
