A man has been taken to hospital after jumping from a first-floor window to escape a fire.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Main Street, Bonnybridge, near Falkirk, following reports of a blaze at 01:20.

Six fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and a water carrier dealt with the incident.

The man was treated for minor injuries at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.

Police Scotland said Main Street would be closed between the Jet garage and the Toll for at least 24 hours.

A spokesman added: "There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire."
