Michael McInnes who was jailed for murder bid absconds from prison
Police are searching for a man jailed for attempted murder after he absconded from an open prison.
Michael McInnes, 23, failed to return to Castle Huntly prison near Dundee nearly a week ago after a period of home release in Glasgow.
McInnes was sentenced to six years in custody after he attacked a man in May 2009.
He is believed to frequent the Glenluce area in Wigtownshire and Bellshill in North Lanarkshire.
McInnes is described as 6ft tall, with short brown hair and has a star tattoo on his neck behind both ears.
Police Scotland urged anyone who has seen him, or knows where he is, to contact them.
