Police concern for missing pensioner William Elder

William Elder William Elder was last seen at his Pitlochry home on Tuesday

Police have said they are becoming increasingly concerned for an 81-year-old man who has been missing from his home since Tuesday.

William Elder was last seen at his house in James Court, Pitlochry, at 10:45 on 10 December.

He was wearing a green wax jacket, black loose fitting trousers and brown boots. Police said he has difficulty walking and a distinctive limp.

They have asked anyone who may have seen Mr Elder to come forward.

He is described as being 5ft tall, slim and has brown, greying hair.

Officers said his disappearance was considered to be out of character and, given his age, there was "considerable concern" for his welfare.

He is also a keen fisherman and anyone who may have known him through this interest has been asked by police to come forward.
