Police investigate sexual assault in Perth

Detectives are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl in Perth.

The victim was walking on a footpath on the east side of Dunkeld Road, near the Motor Mile, when she was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her.

The incident happened shortly after midnight on Sunday.

The area was cordoned off while officers carried out inquiries at the scene.

Officers said they were keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the girl walking in the area.

She was described as being about 5ft 5in tall, of slim build, with shoulder-length, plum-coloured hair. She was wearing white trainers, black sheen trousers and a green parka-style jacket.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on the non-emergency 101 number.
